Longtime DNR Officer To Run For Dickinson Co. Sheriff

Last year, Phil Petersen, IGLA Executive Director, presented a $4,625 check to Gary Owen, Iowa Great Lakes Water Safety Council President. Owen recently announced his intent to run for Dickinson County Sheriff.

(Spirit Lake)– A longtime enforcement officer with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is announcing his intent to run for Dickinson County Sheriff. Owen’s last day with the DNR will be December 27th.

Owen will be facing off against longtime incumbent Greg Baloun, who hasn’t formally announced yet whether he’ll seek another term.
